New: Windows 11 AI Agent helps with Settings

Finding settings shouldn’t feel like a treasure hunt

Have you ever gone hunting through your computer’s Settings app, clicking through menu after menu just to make one small change?

It’s frustrating, isn’t it?

You know the option is in there somewhere… but where?

Microsoft is working on making that experience much easier in Windows 11 by adding something new: an AI Agent built directly into the Settings app.

An AI assistant built into Windows Settings

This isn’t a chatbot like Copilot that you open separately. Instead, the AI is woven straight into the search box inside Settings.

You no longer need to know the exact name of a setting. You can simply type what you want to do in plain, natural language, such as:

  • “Make the screen brighter”
  • “Turn on voice control”

The AI will find the right setting for you — and in some cases, even apply the change automatically.

Your data stays on your device

One of the smartest parts of this new feature is that everything happens locally on your PC.

That means your requests aren’t being sent off to the cloud or shared elsewhere. The AI is powered by a small, fast language model built directly into Windows, so results come back almost instantly.

Microsoft has also tuned it to focus on the settings people use most, which helps avoid long lists of irrelevant suggestions.

A small change that saves a lot of time

At first glance, this might sound like a minor tweak. But think about how often your team wastes time trying to:

  • Enable a feature
  • Fix a basic setting
  • Work out where an option lives

Instead of Googling instructions or waiting for IT support, users can just ask the AI Agent in plain English and get an answer in seconds.

Less downtime, fewer interruptions

The result?

  • Less downtime
  • Fewer interruptions for IT teams
  • Employees who feel more confident using their PCs

When people can solve small problems themselves, they get back to work faster and stay focused.

What’s next for Windows 11?

This new AI feature is still in testing for Copilot+ PCs through the Windows Insider Program, but it gives us a clear glimpse of where Windows is heading.

Microsoft is focused on making everyday technology simpler, faster, and more helpful for everyone.

And when your people aren’t fighting with their computers, productivity and morale both get a boost.
