Environmental Policy

Bespoke IT Solutions Ltd recognise that our operations, activities and services have an impact on the environment.  We are committed to minimising our environmental footprint, continually improving our Environmental Management System, and achieving sustainable business practices.  As an IT Managed Service Provider, our significant environmental aspects are energy consumption and fuel usage related to commuting.

To support our journey to reduce our impact on the environment and to comply with the requirements of BS EN ISO 14001 : 2015 we are committed to the following: 

• Prevention of pollution and protection of the environment: We will implement proactive measures to minimise emissions and waste, prevent pollution and protect the local and global environment.  To help us achieve this, we have established a Carbon Reduction Plan with a commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2040
• Legal compliance: We will comply with all relevant environmental legislation, regulations, and other applicable compliance obligations
• Continual improvement: We will regularly review and set measurable environmental targets and objectives to enhance our overall environmental performance
• Resource efficiency: We will minimise the consumption of natural resources, and energy across our operations
• Sustainable procurement: We will consider the environmental impacts of our products and services and procure accordingly.  We will include environmental performance as a key criterion in all new strategic service and equipment contracts
• Communications and Training: We will ensure this policy is understood, implemented, and maintained at all levels of our organisation. 

There are also some incremental initiatives that BITS has /is implementing to work sustainably :

• Moved to LED bulbs instead of fluorescent lighting
• Installed a fresh water cooler and filter tap instead of using bottled water
• A travel hierarchy policy which puts “digital first”
• A sustainable procurement policy that  integrates environmental, social, and economic criteria into purchasing decisions
