Outlook will flag your most important emails

Is your inbox stealing too much of your time?

How much time do you spend each day sorting through emails, trying to work out what actually needs your attention?

If you’re like most business owners, the answer is probably far too much.

Between customer queries, supplier updates, internal messages and the occasional bit of junk, inboxes quickly become overwhelming. Worse still, when an important email gets buried, it can lead to delays, confusion, or missed opportunities.

Microsoft is stepping in to help

Microsoft clearly recognises this problem. That’s why it’s introducing a new AI‑powered feature in Outlook for iOS and Android designed to help you focus on what really matters.

The feature uses Copilot, Microsoft’s AI assistant, to highlight your most important emails automatically.

Introducing Priority view in Outlook

The new feature is called Priority view.

It will organise your inbox into two simple categories:

  • High Priority
  • Needs Replies

As a result, when you open Outlook on your phone, the emails that require your attention will stand out immediately — no more digging through long message lists.

Less time sorting, more time doing

We all know how easy it is for important messages to slip through the cracks, especially when you’re busy or wearing multiple hats.

With Priority view, you’ll spend far less time managing your inbox. Instead, you can focus on responding to the messages that genuinely matter.

For employees, this can remove a lot of the stress that comes with email overload. There’s no more worry that something critical has been missed under a pile of newsletters or group updates.

What you need to know before it rolls out

It’s worth noting a few important details.

Microsoft will roll this feature out gradually, and it may take until late 2025 before everyone has access. In addition, Priority view is only available to organisations using Microsoft 365 with a Copilot licence, as Copilot is a paid add‑on.

However, if you’re already exploring AI tools to help your business work smarter, this is definitely one to keep an eye on.

Could Copilot help your business work smarter?

Email is just the beginning.

Copilot can also help with tools like Teams, Word, Excel and more, making everyday work faster and more efficient.

If you’re curious about how Copilot could support your team — whether that’s improving email management or optimising how you use Microsoft 365 — we’d be happy to help.
